This happened to me also in the last 6 months, today is 4/27/2009 or so. After having my internet shutoff it took about 5 or 6 calls, moving from room to room, testing down in the lobby and testing outside the hotel to see if it was something wrong with my laptop.

Finally after doing all the testing and working with many tech support guys it was discovered that my access was revoked, like yours. I had been downloading a large iso from work. Once the root of the problem was discovered the tech was able to reinstate me.

I almost always use Hilton while traveling but I am now at another Marriott. here in the DC area. The speedtest.net test says I have a 256kb connection with AT&T Worldwide, but when I do my ftp I am limited to 30kb. I have called the tech support 4 or 5 times and talked to someone different each time.

They are either playing dumb or just don't know what the problem is, as far as they know it is a 256kb connection.

Now I remember why I avoid Marriott for business travel.
