This is so crazy. I visited Pittsburgh yesterday and got the same very impolite "no pictures of the buildings".
I've visited probably around 35 US states and around 15 countries and this is the first time when a security guard makes so much fuss about taking a picture in a public place.
They should hide these PPG buildings and make them ugly like the soul of their guards. This way nobody will care about taking pictures of their buildings.
Too bad for Pittsburgh. This behavior scares tourists away. These is not a security concern but lack of common sense.

This happened to me also in the last 6 months, today is 4/27/2009 or so. After having my internet shutoff it took about 5 or 6 calls, moving from room to room, testing down in the lobby and testing outside the hotel to see if it was something wrong with my laptop.

Finally after doing all the testing and working with many tech support guys it was discovered that my access was revoked, like yours. I had been downloading a large iso from work. Once the root of the problem was discovered the tech was able to reinstate me.

I almost always use Hilton while traveling but I am now at another Marriott. here in the DC area. The speedtest.net test says I have a 256kb connection with AT&T Worldwide, but when I do my ftp I am limited to 30kb. I have called the tech support 4 or 5 times and talked to someone different each time.

They are either playing dumb or just don't know what the problem is, as far as they know it is a 256kb connection.

Now I remember why I avoid Marriott for business travel.

Hi
My friend is 90 years old and I help her with her bills. I saw a $399.99 check draft out of her account. she did not write the check and it said no signature required. It was from a company called express solutions. I called the bank and the only info they had was this number 866-383-0987. so far this is all the info I have and what I am learning from you.

I've since seen your mom a few times and it was great talking to her. I am still indebted to you for your help last summer. I'll be emailing shortly about something new. Take care of yourself and hope all is well.

Ever since I read the story of your illegal detention by Circuit City personnel and the police of Brooklyn, Ohio, I have wondered whether or not you've pursued your right to prefer charges for false imprisonment against the arresting officer and the two Circuit City employees. It seems to me that under Ohio law you have a solid case against all three people involved in illegally detaining you, as well as Circuit City as a corporation. Your business, I realize. I just hope that it works for you to be as aggressive in the defense of your civil rights as possible; I can see how it might not (threats against your family, etc. by local Neanderthals).

Here in Denver, Circuit City is holding a "going out of business" sale, so I guess it's for real - unless this is simply a gimmick for CC to unload all their inventory which has gone obsolete in the past eighteen months. It's amazing how many suck, er, customers will fall for "fantastic deals" on stuff that doesn't work as well as brand new gear that's cheaper.

I've been less than impressed by the value Circuit City offers its customers for years. It's been five years since I've darkened their doors. I hope that their former employees find good jobs elsewhere, but frankly, Circuit City's business practices betray a multi-layered case of incompetence. Under our free market system companies are just as free to fail dismally as to succeed. A lesson our nation's banks ought to have learned.

Very interesting. Though after playing your game a few times I noticed a slight flaw with the revealing logic. That flaw allowed me to maintain a "Switch" average of 100% and a "Non-Switch" average of about 50% .

The problem is that regardless of which door the player chooses, the program will always reveal the lowest numbered losing door not chosen by the player.

For example:
If you choose 1 and it reveals 3, then 2 is the winner.
If you choose 2 and it reveals 3, then 1 is the winner.
If you choose 3 and it reveals 2, then 1 is the winner.

Infact, if you choose either door 1 OR door 2 AND the program reveals door 3, then the door you did NOT pick will ALWAYS be the winner! (ie: if the program reveals door 3, then switch)

On the other hand, if you pick ANY door and the program reveals the LOWEST non-picked door, then you have a fifty-fifty shot at picking the winning door. (ex: pick 3, reveals 1; pick 2, reveals 1; pick 1, reveals 2)

Try it for yourself!

You're right that Circuit City isn't going out of business, this is a protective measure to prevent that from happening. This filing is more due to the credit crunch than anything--this is the time when retailers stock up big on inventory, but sales are typically slower while people wait for the holiday sales. Usually, banks and creditors are a little understanding with the credit extension to retailers, but not this year. This is a way to extend credit with Sony and HP, as well as renegotiate some lousy leases.
